Contractor or Employee?

It can be difficult figuring out whether someone is a contractor or employee. I have compiled the rules of thumb the IRS uses to help you decide. It's important to think this through and make sure you have your folks properly categorized. In the event someone is listed as a contractor and should be an employee the IRS or state can calculate back payroll taxes that should have been paid and require those to be paid.
